WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE.
DID THE WOMEN OF AUSTRALIA
FAIL?
LONDON, June Io.
Sir Almroth Wright, a well-known English, scientist and opponent of women's' suffrage, in a letter in the "Morning Post" J.o-day disputing tho necessity for women's suffrage, deal« with after-the-war problems. Ho says it was not important when tho only,
American woman senator suffered nerv- ous collapse when faced with the un- expected responsibility of voting on the question whether war should be declar-
ed or not. In that case the men were able to do what was necessary. But it ia a mattor of importance when the female population, as it is reported to have done in Australia, blenches and hangs back when it finds- itself faced by the responsibility of sending a husband, son, or lover to the war.
