SERVICE CASUALTIES
Mrs David M. Brodie, of Rowena st, Richmond, has been informed that her husband. Pte Brodie, died
of illness In January, 1944, while a prisoner of war in Siam. Pte Brodie was taken prisoner a t Singapore. He was a son of the late Mr and Mrs Hugh Brodie, of East Malvern. He was educated at Dandenong High School, and was em- ployed with
the Commonwealth Aircraft Cor- poration when he enlisted. He was 28. His brother, Cpl James Brodie, is a POW in Malaya. Mrs Brodie is the daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Turnbull, of Richmond.
Word has been received by Mr and Mrs. A. Pring, Otway street, Bal- larat East, that their eldest son, Driver Frank Pring, has died of ill- ness in a prisoner of war camp in Thailand. Educated at Ballarat East Christian Brothers' School, Dvr Pring was employed at the Eureka Tile Works before enlistment three and a half years ago.
