NO BODYLINE IN
TESTS
G. M. Thompson, writing in the
"Yorkshire Observer," says that Sir Stanley Jackson hinted that he does not favour bodyline, and if his col- leagues agree it will probably be cut out of the Tests, doubtless to the dis- appointment of the thousands attend- ing the matches, but to the delight of Australia. The choice of him as chair- man will be popular in Australia, ow- ing to his attitude on bodyline, and it also supplies further healing to the
breach.
"Jardine will need a bodyline of half a dozen Chicago killers if ever he goes to Australia again. The Australians seem to glory in having a 'go' at his expense. It is a pity that he prefers not to captain England, but doubtless, if Australia is beaten again, some other cause will be found for squeal- ing. ,
"New South Wales does not seem as upset over losing Bradman to South Australia as Yorkshire, for instance, would be if it lost Sutcliffe to Lanca-
shire."
