Owners' Probable
Move
TO KEEP SHIPS RUNNING
SYDNEY, Thursday. <n view of the remote possibility
of the Marine Cooks and Butchers' Union agreeing to the resumption of work, the owners have now def inately decided that the ships must continue running. They are now preparing plans to give effect te this decision. |
Indignation in the ranks of a fortain section of maritime workers at the at- titude of the cooks is increasing. It is believed that the owners will pul into operation new conditions on tho waterfront as regards employment of ship's crews. Determined efforts aro to be made to end the slate of. affairs which makes it possible for shipping to lie held up and, tracrmg dislocated for months without tho instigators of tile trouble feeling the effects.
