The motion is:- ¡
(t) That Inasmuch'as ii. |s an estab- lished pi ¡nelpie ( of British democracy
that there shallibo rio taxation without representation, the Federal Capital Ter- ritory residents should "not bo denied n voice in the'administration of national or local affairs, for the cost of which they are obliged to pay taxation. This meeting therefore 'expresses its indig- nation that Parliament has not realised the gravity of the -injustice it is doing to the citizens' of y the Federal Capital Territory by' neglecting to grant the prayer of the petition for Vnriiamonlury representation signed by, 3092 residents, ?ind that of the petition for represen- tation on the Federal .Capital Commis- sion, signed by 2703 residents, presented to it on April 21; and asserts, the need for a prompt pronouncement 'on- the subject. In the event of further delay occurring in the granting at the 'prayer of the petitions, authorises'- the taking of immediate steps to conduct n vigor- ous campaign throughout Australia with the object of achieving representation for the citizens of the Fodoral Capital Territory in " Parliament and on vthe Federal Capital Commission.
