Gallipoli Hero's Death.
A Strange Case.
An inquest was held in London on Satur- day on the body of an Australian soldier named John Cyril Chambers, whose body was found in a bedroom of the Imperial Hotel, death having been caused by a bullet wound. His right hand gripped a revol-
ver.
Evidence was given that Chambers was formerly a farmer in Queensland. He served with the A.I.F. in Gallipoli and France, where his work in the ranks had won him a Military Cross. He had just completed a course of training in the Offi- cers' Cadet Battalion, and was awaiting a commission at the time of his death.
Chambers left behind a cheerfully written letter addressed to his sister.
An open verdict was returned.
