GIRL-WIFE'S END
Takes Poison after
Quarrel
MET HUSBAND THROUGH
ADVERTISEMENT
SYDNEY, Monday
Particulars of the death of Mrs.
Mary Ross; the 16-year-old wife of a rabbit trapper, who died at her hus- band's camp near Nundle on Friday
show that the girl answered a matri- monial advertisement on August 21 and on August 28 was married to Ross and they went to live at a camp at Wool-
coman.
It was stated that, a few days after their marriage the couple had an ar- gument and the husband subsequently left for Tamworth on business. He took ill at Tamworth and was delayed in town. Meanwhile his wife, believing that he had left her, took poison. When the mother, Mrs. Chapman, ar- rived at the camp the girl was in a bad way. She was removed to hospital where she died shortly afterwards.
A quantity of poison was found in the tent.
