SUICIDE
Girl Takes Poison
RESENTED MOTHER'S
REBUKE
BATHURST, Thursday.
A fifteen year-old girl, Betty Bon- ham, poisoned herself after her mother had rebuked her for keeping late
hours.
Evidence was given at the inquest to-day that after Mrs. Bonham had spoken to her daughter about keep- ing late hours she had become very annoyed and threatened to leave home. The day before her death the
mother again rebuked her and on this occasion, the girl said that she would
go out on the street and poison her- self. Mrs. Bonham said that she did not take the threat seriously.
The girl collapsed and died in a
local business place.
The Coroner returned a verdict of death from strychnine poisoning.
