.Board To Ivestigate
SYDNEY, Friday.

The appointment of Judge A. W. Foster, of the Victorian County Court, as chairman of tile Women's Employment Board, established un- der National Security (Employment of Women) Regulations, waa an- nounced to-day by the Minister foo.' Labour (Mr. Ward).
The Minister also announced that Mr. A. R. Wallis, of the Allied Clothing Trade3 Union, had been chosen as employees special repres- entative, and Miss Ellen Cashman,, of the Attorney-General's Depart- ment, as special représentative ol the employers.
Judge Foster will ibe given *leavo of absence by the Victorian Govern -
men.
The Minister explained that the Board had been established to deter- mine whether women may be em- ployed on work usually performed by men and the peicentage of male rate of pay for female employees: !;oth employers and employees, will have an additional representative when the Boaa-d is dealing with any particular trade or industry.

Miss Cashman Is not known by tho Central Council of the Employers' Association, states the secretary (Mr. C. E. Harrison) who added that the Government had ignored the Council'/} nomination cf Mr. D. E. Johnstone, of Sydney.
It was added that a protest against the appointment of Miss Cashman in being made to the Primo Minister
(Mr. Curtin).
