TWO BOYS BEFORE THE ALBANY

LARCENY OF A DUCK.

ALBANY, March 6.

At the Polios Court thia morning two boys, named James Morris, aged 13 years, and Fahr, aged 11 years, were charged with the laroeny of a duck. It was stated that Morris bad been twios convicted before, and also that numerous complaints had been laid against ,him. Mr. Loftie (tha Government Resident) remarked that he was a very bad boy, thoroughly hardened, and made an order for him to be eent to ths reformatory for five yeara. Fahr was sentenced to receive 10 lashes with the birch, rod.

ROAD FROM ESPERANCE TO DUNDAS.

ESPERANCE, March 6.

Mr. Surveyor Riobes arrived here last night, and reports having surveyed 70 miles of the new road to Dundas up to Saioom Gama. He returned to Esperance in order to frame estimates of making the road via Sharks Lake. Next week he will oommenoe taking levels to reduoe the sandhills between Espéranos and Sharks Lake, this road being by far the most favoured by teamsters, besides being shorter than the road chosen by the Roads Board.

It has been definitely deciced to hold the opening of the railway on 23rd March. Five hundred invitations are being sent out, and a banquet is being prepared for that number of persons. The festivities will continue for

a whole week.

DEATH FROM TYPHOID AT NORTHAM.

NORTHAM, March 6.

Mr. Jno. McKorry, a highly respected resident, died to-day from typpoid contracted   at Woolgangie. Much regret is expressed here at the the untimely death of this promising young colonist.
