The adjourned inquiry into the death of Jamess Lewis, caused by a fall of coal in the

Abedare Colliery, Blackstone on the 15th

instant, was continued before Mr. A. H. W.

Shand yesterday. The only additional evi- dence taken was that of deceased's wife, who stated that her husband was 36 years of age, and had been only three years m the colony Thev had been married for fifteen years, and   had had seven children, one of whom was dead Deceased had been a miner all his life

The inquiry into the death of Cornelius M Innerney, who was killed through falling down some steps at Jackson's boarding house on tho 20th instant, was also continued before the same magistrate. John Alcorn, re- siding at Peak Crossing, deposed that he had known a man named Cornelius M'Innerney   for the past five years; he had been camping   in a hut on witness's property since about New Year on the 19th instant deceased said he was going to Ipswich to buy some clothes, and that he would be back at night. He also said he was going to see a Mrs Saunders. Witness never saw M'Imierney after he left on the fol-

lowing morning. Sergeant Woodcraft, of Harrisville told witness that the man had met with an accident. Deceased, who was a single man, told witness that he had no relatives in the   colony.
