An interesting demonstration .In cooking was given yesterday morning in the Maloulu tea rooms, exhibiting the working of yet another new portable cooking stove called the "Primus Chief."' The stove is in the shaps of a square oven, made of cast-iron, with steel plates; the heat is generated either hy gas burners (one or two, as required) or by means of the Primus kerosene lamp. T!i» distribution of heat throughout the stove, and the ventilation of the oven, are contrive!' upon unique principles ; a whole dinner ea£ be cooked, roasting, stewing, and boiling, at a cost of Id. per hour for gas. A joint cooked in the oven has the brown, crisp appearance of roast meat, and owing to the ventilation none of the sodden taste whlct generally spoils» the flavour of baked Joints Messrs. J. A. Noble and Co. are the agents for this new Invention.
