MR. JAMES LIDDY MARRIED.
SYDNEY, Friday.—Mrs. Esther Gagnet, of Shredeport, New Orleans, Louisiana (U.S.A.), was married in Sydney on Thursday night to Mr. James Liddy, lead- ing man of the "Vagabond King" company.
Mr. Liddy played the leading role in "The Student Prince" in Melbourne. The cere- mony took place at St. Jude's Church, Randwick, and was performed by Canon Cakebread. The bride was given away by Mr. Percy Stewart Dawson. She wore a gown of parchment taffeta made with a long, uneven skirt dipping deeply at the back, and adorned with painted and beaded motifs in pale green. Her hat was of green straw, and she carried a bouquet of orchids. Mrs. Percy Stewart Dawson was the matron of honour, and was in apricot chiffon, and wore a green and apricot pic- ture hat. Her bouquet was of golden gladioli. The best man was Mr. Garnet Pike. After the performance of "The Vagabond King" a reception was given at the Ambassadors, where the bride and bridegroom received the guests.
