SYDNEY. Thursday—The case at the Coast Hospital has been definitely diagnosed as one of bubonic plague the patient
a young man who was employed at a store in Sussex street, is in a serious condition. No other cases have been reported Dr
Armstrong president of the Board of Public Health says that all necessary action has been taken. The premises where the man worked have been quarantined and are being cleansed. A rat found on these premises is regarded as suspicious and is being subjected to further examination Sydney will be declared an infected port. this, Dr Armstrong explains, will not af- fect passenger traffic excepting that pas- sengers for other States will have to un- dergo an examination
