SHIP NEWS,
On Sunday last sailed the American Ship M..v, Capr. B.lc., for Manilla.
And on Tuesday the Schooner Governor King, Messrs. Kable and Underwood, for Hunter's River, to take in a freight of Coals
and Cedar for this Place.
During the Governor King's last trip to the Islands in Bass's Straits, the experienced a very heavy squall in Seal Bay, King's Island, nine days after she left this port, in which she ran amongst a cluster of f.ak rocks and car- ried away part of her gri.e. These rocks, Mr. Moody, master of the above vessel in- forms us extend from Seal Bay towards Hun- er's islands nearly 20 miles, and are all in- visable but one, except from the breakers in bad weather. This one, which is nearest to Seal Point, stands ten or twelve feet above the surface of the sea, and answers the pur- pose of a beacon to those that are unacquaint- ed with the navigation of those Straits.
On Wednesday morning arrived the Sloop Gearge, from New Years Island, from whence she was got off on Tuesday the 7th instant, after undergoing a thorough repair ; she took in 6 tons of oil the day following, and sailed
immediately for this Port.
From Mr. Simoson, who went in the Edwin for the purpose of repairing her, we learn that Druce still remains upon a small barren island called Penguin, and that one of his as- sociates was landed by the Edwin at Port Phillip ; a third got on shore at King's Island, where the sealing parties, are ordered to secure
bias.
