General Orders.

IN consequence of the peculiar circumstan-  

ces which have been represented to the     Governor, Respecting the Spirits brought here by the Fair American and Experiment, amounting to 5I20 gallons, the same is allowed to be disposed of in the following proportion, and at no greater Prices than

those under-named --  

Fair American-- 1175 gallons of Bengal Rum  

at 8s. per gallon : and 1945 gallons of gin

al l0s. per ditto

Experiment--1000 Gallons of French Bran-

dy and Jamaica Rum at 15s. per gallon ; and 1000 gallons of Rio Rum at 8s. per

ditto

Exclusive of the the Duty of One Shilling per    

Gallon.

In distributing which the following pro-   portions will be made, viz.

To Officers Civil and Military 40 gallons

each

To the Commanding Officer of the New

South Wales Corps, to be distributed a- mong the Non-commissioned Officers and Privates as he may think fit, 400 gallons To Superintendants, l0 gallons each

To Licensed People 40 gallons each ;—

which will leave a Residue of about 1500 gallons, to be disposed of to such persons as the GOVERNOR may grant Permits to, which may be applied for on Wednesday

next.

Much inconvenience having arisen by those who suppose their Term of Transportation is     expired leaving their employment, and ap- plying at times when it is not convenient to search the Public Registers, It is hereby or- dered, that no Pass is to be given to any Prisoner for that purpose, nor application to fee made at the Secretary's Office but on the

first Saturday of every month, at nine    

o'clock in the morning.

All Housekeepers of Sydney and Parra-       matta that are in the habit of Letting lodgings, are strictly cautioned not to allow   any person whatever from other Settlements to lodge or sleep in their premises without reporting the fame to a Magistrate, who will give directions to the Constables to have their proper business and character examined   into.—Any person offending against this ne- cessary Regulation to be fined, on conviction before two Magistrates, 40 shillings for the first and 5£. for each offence afterwards.
