FATALITIES AND
ACCIDENTS.
TORRENS DROWNING CASE
At the Adelaide Police Court this morn- ing an inquest will be held on the body of Mr. Peter Moyle, which was found in the Torrens Lake on Wednesday.
BULLET WOUND IN HEAD.
The police reported on Thursday that shortly after 10 a.m. that day Mr. Charles Edwin Molton, secretary of the Oddfel- lows' Lodge, was found in his office, Masonic Hall, Waymouth-street, with a wound on the right side of his head, caused by a revolver shot. A five-cham-
bered revolver, an which there was one empty shell, was found in the room. The injured man was taken to the Adelaide Hospital, and detained by Dr. Verco. The wound is not considered dangerous.
A WELL ACCIDENT.
Echunga, August 26.
An accident occurred to Mr. F. Boon
this morning while assisting Mr. F. Plane to deepen his well. He was being lowered to the bottom when the windlass became
loose, sending him down at a very rapid rate. Fortunately he escaped with a few bruises and a severe shaking.
DRAGGED OFF HIS HORSE.
Curramulka, August 25.
Mr. L. March, of Koolunga, who is at present stationed here in charge of stock from the drought-stricken northern areas, was the victim of a nasty accident on Monday. While galloping after a horse which had broken away from the mob the animal he was riding dashed under a tree, with the result that Mr. March was struck by a branch, and knocked from the saddle. The accident happened near the town, and the sufferer was con- veyed to Dr. Shanahan, who discovered that several ribs were broken, and that Mr. March was suffering from bruises
and shock.
A NURSE DIES SUDDENLY.
Broken Hill, August 27.
Mrs. Dinah Mahon, a nurse, of Thomas- street, was found dead at her home this morning. Death was due to heart failure.
A SHOOTING ACCIDENT.
Broken Hill, August 27. Whilst a boy was showing other lads the working of a Winchester repeating rifle to-day he slipped and the weapon went off. The bullet went right through the leg of a lad named Cakebread, 12 years of age, who was taken to the hospital.
