THE MILDURA RAILWAY.
MILDURA, Tuesday.
A special meeting of the council last night approved of the time-table submitted by the Railway department for the train service for the Mildura line. The service will be tri-weekly each way from Melbourne by the Bendigo express on Tuesdays, Thursdays, und Saturdays, arriving at Mildura next day at 1.30 p.m., and leaving Mildura on Mon- days, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7 p.m., arriving in Melbourne at 4.8 o'clock next afternoon. Application is being made for the sleeping cars withdrawn from the Port- land service a little while ago. The rails now reach to within 10 miles of Hattah, and are being laid at the rate of half a mile daily. The department is, therefore, being asked to open the line to Hattah by the middle of December, so as to secure the Christmas visitors. The coach now running to Swan Hill is to be transferred to make a connection between Mildura and Hat- tah.
