SCHOOL CELEBRATION GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S ADDRESS Empire Day was fittingly celebrated in Canberra and Queanbeyan yesterday, when school functions were held, at which about 1,200 children were present. The Governor-General, in his address at the Capitol Theatre, said that by working for Australia and the Empire they would show themselves worthy of representation in the great Imperial citizenship.
