EARLY MORNING INCIDENT ARBITRATION DEBATE GOES ALL NIGHT VOTE TO BE TAKEN ON TUESDAY Shortly before two o'clock on Friday morning, during an all night debate on the second reading of the Arbitration Bill, the motion was unexpectedly put to the vote by the Deputy-Speaker, Mr. Blakely, and the House was going into committee on the bill almost before the eight members in the chambers were aware of it. The incident completed a surpirse, as an understanding had been reached between parties that the vote would not be taken until Tuesday next, and ministers and members flocked into the chambers in bewilderment. It was found, however, that the formality of the clerk reading the bill before the putting of the motion had not been done, and the omission of his formality enabled the debate to be resumed. The novel experience, however, served to keep more members in the chamber to listen out he debate until the adjournment at 5.30 a.m.
