The Admiral Cockburn carried as passengers "two woman and a child, natives of Van Diemen's Land" whom had been amongst a group of five aboriginal women and three children who been taken from King Island, Bass strait, and were eventually left on the Island of Rodrigues in the Indian Ocean. One woman and a child died in Mauritius, one child stayed in Mauritius with his father, a sealer. One woman remained in Sydney due to illness.

The wreck at Shoal Haven (NSW) of the ship on the Australian $20 note. Also wrecked was the schooner Endeavour (of Sydney). Some of the crew travelled overland to get relief.
