Refpecting the burglary committed at the
houfe of Mr. Haffall, mentioned in the laft
page, the following circumftances have fince
tranfpíred.-James Dobbs was accofted on
Friday night by the Police, who were active
in endeavouring to promote difcovery, on ac
count of his carrying a bag, the contents of
which appeared to be weighty. and upon exa-
mination turned out to be copper coin nearly
to the amount of £10. Unable to give any
fatisfactory account refpecting it, and as it
was not only wet as if taken from conceal
ment out of a pond. but was intermingled alfo
with plaifter and other broken fragments of a
building, he was detained on suspicion, while
a party was dispatched to fearch his habitation,

into the boat, and fortunately reached his
wounded companion as he was on the point
of finking, to rife no more, for he was by this
time totally exhaufted by his wound, of which
however he has fince recovered.
