The Maitland Mercury, and Hunter River General Advertiser, Wednesday 17 March 1852, ( http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article672475 ) quoting the Argus, give the origin of the word "nugget" as originating on the Ophir Gold fields, and this article is, if not the first, then one of the first to use the word, hence it is enclosed in quotaion marks, and the co-term "lumps" is also used.

Annie Vitelli, nee Day, married her singing teacher Giovanni Whittle Vitelli in Melbourne, 1855-07-04. After the death of Giovanni Vitelli 1859-04-20, Annie married Charles Thatcher (the colonial minstral) 1861-02-08. They, with their two daughters returned to England in 1870.
